Trade Apprentice Recruitment 2019

The district-wise break-up of the number of seats where training will be given is under:

Haryana (150): Hisar-31, Karnal-36, Kurukshetra-23, Rohtak-22, and Sirsa-38;

Punjab (400): Amritsar-31, Barnala-40, Bhatinda-45, Gurdaspur-40, Jalandhar-28, Ludhiana-32, Moga-40, Mohali-30, Muktsar-31, Patiala-37 and Sangrur-46;

Himachal Pradesh (150): Bilaspur-27, Kangra-29, Kullu-21, Nahan-36, Rampur-37 The number of training seats mentioned above is provisional and may vary according to the actual requirement of the Bank.

Reservation for Economically Weaker Section (EWS) is governed by Oce Memorandum no. 36039/1/2019-Estt (Res) dated 31.01.2019 of Department of Personnel & Training, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievance & Pensions, Government of India.

  1. EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION as on 31.08.2019:

Graduation from a recognised University/ Institute


One year only.


The apprentices are eligible for a stipend of 70% of semi-skilled labor wages as applicable in the respective states as per Apprentices Act or Rs.8000 per month whichever is higher. The trainee is not eligible for any other allowances/benets.


Selection for engagement of apprentices would be based on the basis of online written test and test of the local language. i. Online written test:

The structure of the online written examination (online objective type) would be as follows.

Each test will have separate timing as mentioned above.

The questions will be bilingual, i.e., English & Hindi, except for the test of General English. There will be negative marks for wrong answers in the Objective tests. 1/4th of mark assigned for the question will be deducted for each wrong answer.

Candidates are required to score minimum percentage marks on aggregate (For SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates, 5% relaxation available thereon). Minimum qualifying marks on aggregate will be as decided by the Bank. There are no minimum qualifying marks for individual subjects. Merit list will be drawn Statewise and category wise. Candidates qualified in the test will be placed according to their aggregate marks in descending order in respective States and Categories.

NOTE: Other detailed information regarding the examination will be given in the ‘Acquaint Yourself’ booklet, which will be made available for download to the eligible candidates along with the call letter for the test.

The online examination will be held on 23.10.2019 (Tentatively). The Tentative List of examination centers are as under:

– Candidate should choose the name of the Centre where he/she desires to take the examination. SBI, however, reserves the right to cancel any of the examination centers and/or add some other centers, at its discretion, depending upon the response, administrative feasibility, etc. SBI also reserves the right to allot the candidate to any center other than one he/she has opted for.

No request for change of center for examination shall be entertained.

-The candidate will appear for the examination at the allotted center at his/her own risk and expenses and SBI will not be responsible for any injury or losses, etc.  of any nature.

– Any unruly behavior/ misbehavior in the examination hall may result in cancellation of candidature, disqualification from future exams conducted by SBI. ii. Test of the local language:
